About my book
After almost two decades of dissatisfaction with the quality of therapy I received over the years, I decided to engage in a deep research on the subject. I knew therapy could be effective, so why was “I” not benefiting so much from it?
Most of what I discovered was surprising. As it turns out, the best therapists can be 10 times more effective than their average colleagues — but what makes them so much more effective?
It is not training or modality. Nor session price. Not even years of practice, as studies show many therapists become worse over the years.
Instead, it is a therapist’s ability to gain your trust that matters. How they build this trust is, therefore, the subject of this book.
There are many qualities and attitudes that make a trusted professional. In this publication, you will learn what to look for when searching for a therapist, questions you can ask, and features you can observe. You will also learn more about the history of therapy, and its many different modalities.
This is a book for anyone looking to start their journey in therapy, or considering returning to it after one or many underwhelming therapy sessions.
This is your starting point for a more empowered client experience.

Compassion-based hypnotherapy practice
There is much suffering in the experience of life on earth as a human being. We love, lose, leave, and long.
While there is no solution for the essential painful aspects of our existence, such as loss, guilt, shame, regret, and so on, it is possible to overcome difficulties with grace.
Our human minds are fast at turning to hostility as a safety measure against a hostile world. However, the solution lies in the ability to recognise real vs imagined threats, and act according to reality for the most effective problem‑solving and self‑development.
— Carl G. Jung“Your visions will become clear only when you can look into your own heart.
Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.”
Awareness Training
Overcoming the dominant survival‑driven, hostile patterns of thought and behaviour requires only two things: present awareness and compassion.
In fact, many schools of thought believe compassion is inherently present in present‑awareness — as reality becomes clear, we can see people’s motivations more clearly and begin to realise everyone is just trying to live and cope with suffering, even when how they do so is unhelpful or harmful.
Present‑awareness also teaches us that we cannot change others — but we can change ourselves, and that is enough. It is empowering to realise that your life is entirely in your hands, as how you feel only depends on you.
You are a magnificent miracle of a being, and your mind can create entirely new realities. Whether your reality is pleasant or unpleasant depends on your beliefs and attitudes. While there is no way out of discomfort, there is also no need for holding on to painful memories and feelings.
The present moment is as simple and joyful as it is fleeting — nothing lasts forever, and that is a good thing.
I can help you guide your awareness to the present moment and experience a calmer, wiser, and more compassionate perspective. This is an empowering experience that can heal and transform.
